Let’s get into it!
What is Entrepreneurial Transformation?
Simply put, entrepreneurial transformation is changing who you are as an entrepreneur to the person you want to be through a series of new habits and routines.
In my opinion, there is not that much of a difference between the personal and entrepreneurial transformation. Because both require you to change who you are and how you live your life (or run your business).
As far as I know, entrepreneurs are passionate, resilient, and persevering. Whether you are starting or a seasoned entrepreneur, you probably feel as if something is missing.
To determine what you feel, look at the three key ways to transform yourself. You may find an area of your life or business that requires a bit of transformation.
3 Key Ways To Transform Yourself As an Entrepreneur
Mostly, I think transformation is scary and necessary. After years of research, my conclusion is this: successful people understand the true key to success and happiness is transformation.
Key #1: Define What Success and Happiness Means to You
To begin, determine the specific definition of success and happiness as it applies to you. Every entrepreneur has a different definition of success and happiness. All entrepreneurs want success, but how each defines success is different.
For example, when I started as an entrepreneur, I defined success as owning a business. Consequently, making money by running a company gave me happiness.
And, through the years, I evolved as my life changed. At one point, success meant having a surplus of money in a reserve bank account. Despite of having money, my happiness decreased.
Today, my definition of success is donating items and money to Happy Saks for Homeless. Thus, making a difference in the world feels more like success and happiness.
Define Your Entrepreneurial Transformation Goals
After you have a definition, you can move toward reaching your goals.
Step 1: Determine what you can do and what you can not.
Step 2: Find people to complete the stuff you can not.
Step 3: Remove distractions: bad habits, including your excuses.
How Motivation Impacts Your Transformation
In my experience, motivation plays a significant role in success with entrepreneurial transformation. Sometimes we lack internal motivation. During those times, I enlist the help of a coach. Yes, even coaches need a coach.
Key #2: Ask For Help as You Transform Yourself as an Entrepreneur
For instance, just like many successful entrepreneurs, I found a coach to assist with my entrepreneurial transformation. During my time with the coach, I had to redefine success.
Once I figured out what I wanted and understood the choice of happiness, I confidently stepped into my entrepreneurial role. Most importantly, my creative role made me happy.
In other words, I’m successful and happy.
Tips for Finding a Coach To Transform Your Business
There should be no shock, but not all coaches are equal. Therefore, you may have to go through several coaches before finding a coach who actually ‘gets’ you and your goals.
Asking for help is one of the best ways to get an outside perspective of what is working and what is not in your business.
For this reason, find a coach use the following three criteria:
1. Not all about their success.
2. Not about the number of clients they have.
3. Spends time understanding you and your business.
It seems to me finding a ‘good’ coach is the nature of the entrepreneurial journey. You night find several before you find the one coach who understands your unique transformational needs.
Key #3: You Need Others To Support Your Entrepreneurial Transformation
Although you may think finding a community is needless, it is not. Most articles and ‘experts’ tell new entrepreneurs to surround themselves with a supportive community.
Realistically, when you are just starting, building a community or team to support your entrepreneur journey may be challenging.
Most important, you need support. It would be best if you had people who have your back when the journey gets bumpy. And trust me, the journey will be rough.
Entrepreneurship requires long days filled with numerous setbacks. I also believe the journey is often a lonely one.
So, it would be best if you had a community that will boost your morale and pushes you to keep moving. Your community can also help you in areas that you are weak.
How to find a community?
1. Use Google to research your specific community needs.
2. Search a specific keyword on any social media platform.
3. Build a community (group) on a social media platform.
Community building is similar to building your business. Be patient with the journey. Likewise, you can join the Success YOU community today! chll
Why Failure Plays a Role in Your Transformation as an Entrepreneur
Failure will happen to you as an entrepreneur. Heck, you will fail more times than you succeed.
Entrepreneurial transformation is no different and will not happen overnight.
Often you will feel like you take one step forward then five steps back. That’s the best part about being an entrepreneur – a journey all of its own. Other days, you’ll take mountain like jumps in a matter of a day or two.
Those who succeed are the people who realize the reality of entrepreneurship’s journey; and don’t give up because of the set-backs.
Prepare yourself for the journey to take longer than you expect.
Sometimes you need a little guidance or a helping hand. So, in that case, reach out to a mentor or coach.
Essentially, your entrepreneurial transformation journey is necessary for your happiness and success. Perhaps you will fail. Just know this, success will only happen if you keep moving forward.
Should You Transform Yourself as an Entrepreneur?
In conclusion, to be happy and successful as an entrepreneur, yes! Transforming yourself is key to having a long and successful entrepreneur journey, in my opinion.
Everything boils down to you being the best version of yourself. This process is like a marathon and not a sprint.
Remind yourself WHY you wanted to embark on an entrepreneurial transformation, and keep moving forward.
Continually tell yourself that set-backs are part of the process, and your change is happening despite the roadblocks and bumps.
